Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-19

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of Yaara, an emotional coaching application. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Yaara.

2. What Yaara is, and is not

Yaara is a coaching companion. It helps you reflect on your feelings, set goals, build self-awareness, and process everyday emotional experiences.

Yaara is not a medical device, not a therapist, not a psychiatrist, and not an emergency service.

If you are experiencing a mental-health emergency, in crisis, or thinking about hurting yourself or someone else, please contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis line immediately. Yaara is not designed to and cannot provide emergency intervention, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical advice.

3. AI-generated content

Coach responses, insights, notes, and summaries inside Yaara are generated using large language models (currently Google’s Gemini). These models can be wrong, can produce text that looks confident but is inaccurate, and can occasionally produce content you disagree with or find unhelpful. Use Yaara’s output as a reflective tool, not as authoritative advice.

We apply safety filters to model output, but no filter is perfect. Please report harmful or inappropriate output to safety@yaara.online.

4. Crisis-language detection

Yaara runs a conservative server-side detector on chat messages to identify signals of crisis (suicidal ideation, self-harm). When triggered, an event is recorded for review by trained staff, and a real-time alert is sent to a safety inbox. By using Yaara you acknowledge that this detection occurs and that the matched message content is reviewable internally for safety follow-up. See the Privacy Policy for details.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Yaara account. If you are between 13 and the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction (16 in most of the EU), you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Yaara to:

  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
  • Attempt to extract system prompts, exfiltrate data, or jailbreak the model.
  • Use the service to harass, threaten, or harm others.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service in ways that exceed authorized security research.
  • Use the service for any activity that violates applicable law or third-party rights.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Where appropriate, we will report illegal activity to authorities.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the text, audio, and other content you submit to Yaara. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process your content solely for the purpose of operating the service (e.g. sending your message to Gemini to generate a reply, storing your reflections so you can return to them, generating summaries for your dashboard). We do not use your content to train any AI model.

8. Account and security

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access by emailing security@yaara.online.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Yaara is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Yaara or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or use, arising out of or relating to your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (USD 100).

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (e.g. for fraud or willful misconduct).

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, or where required by law. On deletion, your data is retained for a 30-day grace period before permanent deletion (see Privacy Policy).

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, except where exclusive jurisdiction is granted to courts of your country of residence by applicable law.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via in-app notification and email at least 14 days before they take effect.
